What is your favorite Stanley memory? My favorite memory at Stanley was during the after-school theater program at Stanley, Wildcats on stage. When I was in 7th grade, the spring musical was The Addams Family. I had the opportunity to play the role Lurch. This experience was not only incredible because I got to play a role that I never expected to play, but also the understanding, funny, and supportive cast and directors that were part of that program. The specific memory is before going on stage on opening night. All of the cast was getting into costume, makeup and most importantly their character. As much as my costume and makeup were exciting and fun, what I really enjoyed was when I got into character.

Describe your Shelter In Place Experience. My experience with shelter in place was very difficult at first. I was devastated that no one would be going to school, school events would be cancelled such as dances, end of the year activities, and of course saying goodbye to all of my friends, especially the ones that aren't going to my high school next year. It's been a while since the Shelter in Place has started and I have gotten more and more used to “the new normal.” I've been trying to find time away from screens, including my computer, and get enough exercise to actually be tired at night. I have done a lot of work on my garden, and I've played frisbee with my dad and my neighbors. I have had fun crafting, and practicing my performing arts skills. I am also thankful for technology at this time, for school, staying connected, and keeping us entertained through TV and other various apps.

What are you looking forward to most about attending high school? In high school, I am most looking forward to being a part of the leadership program. I'm excited to plan events that have never been planned before to keep us all safe during this uncertain time due to Covid-19. I don't know what events will look like, but I'm excited to see what me and the rest of the leadership team come up with. I am also excited to have my first boyfriend. And halfway excited to experience all the drama that goes along with it.
